20 more U2s were purchased during 1982 and 1983, and were used to maintain a low trip frequency between each station. The line now extends from the north (Clareview) to the University of Alberta (Health Sciences). These light rail vehicles are powered by dual 150kW DC motors which put out 200HP at 1200RPM.
