During March and April 2004, ETS received 35 more D40LFs. These buses are somewhat different from previous orders, with a number of unique features. First, they are equipped with a Cummins ISL engine due to NewFlyer changing the engine selection. Secondly, the seats are different from the conventional ones found on all the other D40LFs. They have a more rounded design to them. Third, the rear engine grille is serrated and the fleet numbers have a thinner look to them. These buses still have the Allison B400R5 transmission and Luminator Horizon orange LED destination signs.
