In 2006, ETS purchased two Orion VII hybrid buses for testing at a cost of $749,000 each. They are based on TTC specifications and are powered by the BAE Systems series drive (which has a ZF gear selector panel). These buses are also equipped with Luminator Horizon orange LED destination signs, an upgraded Motorola radio, power roof vents, and power mirrors.
