King County Metro took the largest ever delivery of 213 DE60LFs in 2003-2004. This followed from the one prototype bus, 2599, which was delivered in 2002. These buses are powered by the Caterpillar C9 engine and have the GM-Allison EP50 parallel hybrid system.
