On July 20, 2005, Translink unveiled the way of the future with their new low floor zero-emissions trolley bus, 2101. This is the first bus to feature a new design of the x40LF body from New Flyer. This fully accessible design with 2 wheelchair positions allows persons with physical disabilities to ride easily, whereas the old trolleys did not. This bus is powered by Vossloh Kiepe electronics and features an emergency power unit (EPU) for off-wire travel. The maximum speed of this bus is 65km/h.
